So bonfire night is here again, and thoughts as always turn to safety. Many more people these days go to organised events, but there are still some of us who will let off a few rockets and Catherine wheels in the back garden.
There is lots of safety advice around and most of this starts with advising people to go to an organised event rather than doing it yourself. But if you still intend to have your own Guy Fawkes spectacular at home, then some of the best advice we’ve found comes from Tyne & Wear Fire and Rescue Service. This goes into great detail on every aspect of Bonfire Night. You can read it all here.
If you are involved in running an organised event, you can check if you’re doing everything properly by reading the comprehensive advice given by UK Fire Service Resources.
Keep warm, have fun – but most of all keep you and your family safe.
