It’s the first week of December and so the Christmas craziness has started. Many of us will now be putting up our Christmas trees, so it’s a good time to think about safety and fire prevention.

This video delivers a terrifying message of what could happen if you forget to turn your Christmas tree lights off at night or when you go out of the house. It’s the speed with which the fire takes hold that is so incredible.

There’s lots of good advice available to help ensure you and your family have a safe Christmas. One of the best places to get this from is The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). They have general safety tips for Christmas on their website as well as specific advice for using Christmas lights safely. You can find it all here.

Enjoy the run up to Christmas – and stay safe.
